Mathis Jaycob
Mathis Jaycob (20yo) -A Dutch singer/songwriter from a little city in the south of the Netherlands, called Breda.
History -In 2009 he took part in the Dutch singing contest ‘Popstars’. Out of seven thousand contesters he belonged to the last sixty people. Since this program his music career started. Thanks to Popstars he met some new friends who started to sing with him in band formation. He taught himself to play the piano and guitar by the internet. This worked out really well and during the years he started to compose and write his own Pop songs.
Changes -When he got eighteen he decided to move out for summer holidays and started working in Amsterdam. Here he met a lot of Dj’s, Producers and MC’s in Amsterdam’s nightlife. Thanks to this experience he met this Producer from Australia and together they diceded to make a track with a few other people from other countries. When he moved back to Breda he started a new band together with some friends. The band is called Novacane. They all loved to play soul and RnB so this would be their genre.
Present -Since a few weeks he is studying Hiphop Vocals at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht, where he works together with producers from his class. During the week and week end he is also rehearsing with his band.
Details -Mathis got this recognizable sound. A likely high range of voice makes him interesting for the Dance and House scene and other Electric genres. Guidance on guitar really suits the color of his voice. Also he has a good timing thanks to the RnB music and he writes English lyrics about subjects that matter to him. He is open to anything and he does not exclude.
